August is National Immunization Awareness Month
National Immunization Awareness Month (NIAM) is an annual observance held in August to highlight the importance of vaccination for people of all ages. Immunizations help prevent dangerous and sometimes deadly diseases. To stay protected against serious illness like the flu, measles, and pneumonia, both children and adults need vaccinations.
During NIAM, Erlanger encourages you talk to your doctor, nurse, or other healthcare professional to ensure you and your family are up-to-date on recommended vaccines.
