The hospital’s accredited, in-house lab provides accurate and reliable reporting of results whether you’re staying with us as a patient or visiting our service site to fulfill a health provider’s orders.

The menu of diagnostic tests and screenings include, but are not limited to, routine analysis of the blood, urine and stool. Inpatient tests are performed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week within our facility.

  • No appointment is necessary for outpatient lab work with the exception of specialty labs such as glucose tolerance and therapeutic phlebotomies.
  • Outpatients can arrive with a physician’s orders in hand and register in the lab or fax orders to 828-835-7686
  • Stat testing only after hours

Has your doctor requested you get your blood drawn? Rest assured we wish to ease the anxiety and apprehension associated with such procedures. The lab is under the direction of a pathologist who oversees a well-trained staff comprised of a manager, technologists, technicians, and phlebotomists. Our methods minimize pain and discomfort while collecting the health data vital to you and your health care provider.

Our lab is responsible for performing and reporting results for Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital’s Emergency Department, as well as providing biweekly testing opportunities for Clay County Care Center in Hayesville, NC and Valley View Care & Rehabilitation Center Nursing Home in Andrews, NC.

Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital uses LabCorp, a national reference laboratory, for supplemental clinical testing.
