Rudy Timm, DO
I would like to nominate Dr. Rudy Timm. He has gone above and beyond for his patients and colleagues consistently for his entire residency. He constantly fits patients into his schedule by double booking slots and doing medicine visits over the phone; anything to meet patient's needs. He has picked up food from the food pantry and delivered it to a patient's home.
He quickly became well known for switching weekend call coverage with others in need and covering patient care responsibilities with no expectation of payback. He has been willing to walk colleague's dogs in the middle of the day when they are on busy services or nights.
IHe has also been willing to lead community health talks on several occasions with our Walk with a Doc program over the years. All this work has been done with high integrity and with an obstectrical workload that has surpassed any resident I have ever witnessed. He has participated in ~300 deliveries over the course of 2.5 years and is always willing to come in to care for a mother and child.
Dr. Timm has displayed consistent emphasis on caring for others in all atmospheres of his life and placing the needs and wants of others in front of his own. It is with great honor that I nominate him for this year's Alper Award.
