Knee Replacement Procedures

Total Knee Replacement

Total knee replacement may be recommended when arthritis or joint damage affects multiple areas of the knee. During the procedure, damaged bone and cartilage are removed and replaced with artificial components designed to restore smoother movement and improve joint function.

Partial Knee Replacement

Partial knee replacement may be an option when damage is limited to one section of the knee. This procedure preserves more of the healthy bone, cartilage, and ligaments surrounding the joint.

For appropriately selected patients, partial knee replacement may allow for a smaller incision, a more natural feeling knee and a faster early recovery.

Robotic-Assisted Knee Replacement

Robotic-assisted technology helps surgeons develop a personalized surgical plan based on the patient’s unique anatomy. During surgery, the technology provides detailed information that supports precise preparation of the joint and placement of the implant.

The surgeon remains in control throughout the procedure and uses the technology as an additional tool to support accuracy and individualized care.

Revision Knee Replacement

Most knee replacements provide long-term pain relief and improved function. In some cases, however, an implant may loosen, wear, become unstable or develop complications over time.

Revision knee replacement removes some or all of the existing implant and replaces it with new components. These procedures can be more complex than an initial knee replacement and may require specialized implants, advanced surgical techniques, and additional reconstruction.
