About / Overview

Dr. Reese Courington is an orthopaedic surgeon with fellowship training in adult and pediatric orthopaedic oncology. After graduating with honors from the University of Florida, he completed medical school at the Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine in Miami, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He subsequently completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the Orlando Health Jewett Orthopedic Institute. While there, he was a winner of the Resident Excellence in Leadership Award, provided annually to one orthopaedic resident demonstrating exceptional performance across multiple domains.

He then spent an additional year of subspecialty training in orthopaedic oncology and complex limb salvage and reconstruction at the Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital and Nationwide Children’s Hospital. His fellowship included extensive training in the care of pediatric and adult patients with both benign and malignant bone and soft tissue tumors, metastatic bone disease, and complex joint reconstruction and revision.

Dr. Courington has published multiple peer-reviewed articles, and his research has been presented both nationally and internationally. He is an active member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons.

Outside of work he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, reading, and partaking in a variety of outdoor activities.
