Education and Collaboration

Erlanger Health Acute Care Physical Therapy residency is affiliated with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Doctor of Physical Therapy program.

Residents are expected to be clinical instructors for physical therapy students completing clinical rotations and assist with teaching didactic coursework in the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Doctor of Physical Therapy program with a focus on acute care content.

Residents will be compliant with federal and state regulation as well as with Erlanger Health and UTC policies, values and standards of care. This residency was developed based on the APTA Core Competencies of a Physical Therapist Resident covering seven domains of practice performance.

Residents will follow a curriculum developed by practicing mentors in conjunction with UTC for both live patient care and didactic coursework.
