Hannah Tunks is a physician assistant with Erlanger Hematology and Oncology, which is a collaborative, comprehensive cancer care partnership between Erlanger Health System and Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center.
Tunks knew she wanted to have a career in medicine as a young girl, and she eventually pursued physician assistant training at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville. When she began working as a nurse assistant in Vanderbilt’s pediatric hematology/oncology unit, she soon fell in love with the subspecialty – the cutting-edge treatments, success stories, medical advancements, and the patients and their families.
Following her schooling, Tunks remained in the hematology/oncology subspecialty. She enjoys walking with her patients throughout treatment and offering comfort and support during both challenging and joyous times.
