Originally from Madison, Mississippi, Dr. Justin Calvert attended Mississippi College for undergraduate training before obtaining his medical degree from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine. Dr. Calvert completed an internship in general surgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 2008 and completed his diagnostic radiology residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, in 2012, where he served as chief resident his final year. Dr. Calvert went on to complete fellowships in vascular and interventional radiology at the Northwestern McGaw Medical Center in Chicago, IL, in 2013, and neurointerventional surgery at the University of Tennessee College of Medicine in Chattanooga, TN, in 2014. Having a passion for patient and physician advocacy at the local and state level, Dr. Calvert served as President of the Chattanooga Hamilton County Medical Society in 2018 and has served on the Board of Directors for the Society since 2014. Leadership skills were prioritized early in Dr. Calvert’s career, and in 2016, he completed both the John Ingram Institute for Physician Leadership “Leadership Lab” and “LeadershipImmersion Retreat” sponsored by the Tennessee Medical Association. Currently, Dr. Calvert serves as Chief and Chairman of the Department of Radiology at Erlanger Health System. In Dr. Calvert’s spare time, he enjoys boating, running, weight training, and traveling.
