"Dr. Dave" Suhrbier is a native Chicagoan who received his Bachelor and Master Degree in Biology at the University of Illinois. He then attended medical school at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Suhrbier received his neurology and pediatric neurology training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. He also obtained his pediatric training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and at National Naval Medical Center. He was a pediatric neurologist in the U.S. Army Medical Corps for seven years. In 2001, he was a recipient of the Army Commendation Medal. He also served as an assistant professor of pediatric neurology at University of Florida/SHANDS for two years, where he received the SHANDS Star Award for patient care in 2003. He joined the Children's Hospital at Erlanger in 2015.
Dr. Suhrbier has a special interest in pediatric sleep disorders. Other areas of interest include epilepsy and autism.
