Chair, Department of Pediatrics and Pediatrician in Chief, Children's Hospital at Erlanger

Dr. William (Bill) Basco, MD, MS, is Professor and Chair, Department of Pediatrics at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center-Chattanooga, and Pediatrician-in-Chief for Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.

Dr. Basco has over 25 years of experience caring for hospitalized children. He is also an active researcher, including funded research from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality to evaluate pediatric medication errors and funding from the Health Resources Services Administration to evaluate opioid prescribing to children.

He is board-certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Hospital Medicine (participating in Maintenance of Certification for both).
