About / Overview
Tamara Carroll, DNP, MSN, APRN, LACAD-II, FNP-BC, PMHNP-BC, CPRS is a compassionate and highly accomplished nurse practitioner, double board-certified in Family Practice and Psychiatric Mental Health. She also holds credentials as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor-II and Certified Peer Recovery Specialist, reflecting her deep commitment to holistic and integrative care.
Originally from East Nashville, Dr. Carroll has strong ties to the Chattanooga region, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She later returned to her hometown to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at Tennessee State University. With over a decade of clinical experience, Dr. Carroll has focused her recent work on addiction medicine and psychiatry—fields where she brings both expertise and empathy.
In 2024, she earned her LADAC-II license, allowing her to provide independent counseling services. Most recently, in July 2025, she completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice degree and a post-master’s certificate as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner from Liberty University.
Dr. Carroll’s passion lies in providing whole-person care to individuals across the lifespan. She is thrilled to return to the Chattanooga area to serve the community she once called home.
Outside of her professional work, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family, hiking, tackling DIY projects, and giving back through her involvement with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.
