About / Overview

McKenzie Smartt is a Family Nurse Practitioner certified in Cancer Genetics and Risk Assessment with the Erlanger High Risk and Cancer Genetics Program. She is a Nashville native but considers Chattanooga home. From a very early age, McKenzie knew that she wanted to be a nurse. She then decided to pursue further education and become a provider. McKenzie feels grateful to have had the opportunity to attend Southern Adventist University for both her undergraduate and graduate degrees, and calls the education she received there a "blessing."

McKenzie loves the genetics specialty because it takes a proactive approach. Her goal is to help every single patient feel truly educated and empowered in their own health journey.

When she's not working, McKenzie loves to spend time with her family. She and her husband have a little boy who keeps them very busy. Outside of family time, she enjoys CrossFit and Target and has recently started learning the art of sourdough bread making.
