Dr. Zimmerman brings a wealth of experience and a deep sense of compassion to his practice in family medicine. Originally from the mountains of North Carolina, he has lived in several states across the country, enriching his perspective and approach to care. After completing medical school, Dr. Zimmerman served in the United States Air Force for 13 years, a chapter of his career that shaped his dedication to service and excellence.
His commitment to health has taken him on medical mission trips to Haiti and Togo, where he provided care to underserved communities. Dr. Zimmerman is also devoted to his family—he married his college sweetheart, and together they are raising five children. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors, whether it's hiking, swimming, camping, or exploring national parks. They also love playing games and staying active together.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Zimmerman has a wide range of hobbies that reflect his creativity and energy. He enjoys building electric trains, woodworking, playing the piano, reading, and engaging in sports like soccer and ping-pong.
Dr. Zimmerman chose family medicine because of his passion for treating patients of all ages and his interest in a broad spectrum of health topics. He is especially committed to preventive care and helping his patients lead healthier lives through education and early intervention.
