Minimally Invasive Treatment Options

Minimally invasive treatment options are more advanced than ever before, both in the technology available and the number of procedures that can be performed with reduced impact on the patient. Three of the most common minimally invasive treatment options are laparoscopy, endometrial ablation and hysteroscopy. These techniques have transformed procedures that once required hospitalization and long recovery times into treatments that neater, simpler, and more comfortable.

Laparoscopy uses a tiny camera and precise instruments to perform surgeries through small incisions. The OB/GYN doctor can use the imaging from the camera to guide the tools, eliminating the need for large incisions that give physicians an external view into the surgical area. This technology reduces the recovery time and impact for patients, and allows physicians to work more specifically within the body.

Many minimally invasive treatment options for abdominal or uterine conditions can be performed by inserting instruments vaginally through the cervix. New types of minimally invasive procedures are developed all the time, and all of them are helping doctors work with greater precision and patients returning to their normal everyday lives more quickly and comfortably than ever.  Our WISH OB/GYN doctors in Chattanooga, TN offer the following outpatient pelvic surgeries.
