Dr. Paul Hoffmann was born in Baltimore, Maryland, but moved to Tennessee, living in Maryville and growing up there since the age of four. He attended Maryville High School and subsequently attended Maryville College where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 1991. After this he attended medical school at the University of Tennessee from 1992 through 1996 when he was awarded his medical degree. After this he did a transitional internship at the Methodist Hospital in Memphis and then did residency in Indianapolis, Indiana, in physical medicine and rehabilitation as chief resident and graduated in 2000.
Upon completion of residency he first worked at Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville where he was appointed Director of Head Injury Rehabilitation. He subsequently moved to Chattanooga in 2002 and worked with Siskin Hospital for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and was appointed Medical Director of Siskin Hospital in 2006 and served in this position from early 2006 through late 2007. In January of 2008 he joined the Neurosurgical Group where he has brought his experience with rehabilitation and interventional treatment of the spine to the Group.
Dr. Hoffmann’s professional interests include interventional of the lumbar spine, acute and chronic back pain, rehabilitation of traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury.

Dr. Hoffmann and his wife Mitzi have one child. Dr. Hoffmann’s social interests include gardening, antiques, and traveling.
