About / Overview

Dr. Wilkins grew up in Connecticut and has lived in Chattanooga for almost 20 years. She received her under-graduate degree at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine. After college she moved to sunny Florida, where she obtained her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Central Florida. Another move to Auburn, Alabama for further education resulted in the successful completion of the Ph.D. program in Child Psychology at Auburn University. Dr. Wilkins completed her internship in Child Psychology at The Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. She then pursued additional specialized training in hospital based pediatric health psychology through Post-doctoral Fellowships at both M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, and Nemour's Children's Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Wilkins works closely with many of the pediatric subspecialisit, including neurology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, and orthopedics, as well as others, to provide for the emotional needs of children with both chronic and acute illnesses or injuries. She provides psychological services for children referred by pediatric residents and local pediatricians. Additionally, she regularly consults with collegues at the Siskin Behavioral and Developmental Clinic.
