Biography

Dr. Katye Herring is a board-certified physician who specializes in pediatric hematology/oncology. She attended the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson for medical school and remained there to complete a pediatric residency at Blair Batson Hospital, a hospital within the Children’s of Mississippi health system. Following residency, Dr. Herring completed a pediatric hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.

Dr. Herring is new to the Chattanooga area and considers it an honor to care for the hematology/oncology patients of Children’s Hospital at Erlanger. She became interested in the complexities of this specialty when she was younger and felt compelled to pursue this area of medicine as a career. She enjoys caring for pediatric patients of all ages and she is especially interested in leukemias, solid tumors, and palliative care.

When she’s not working, Dr. Herring enjoys reading and being outdoors. She and her miniature goldendoodle, Murphy, regularly walk, run, and hike together.
