Originally from India, Dr. Jenifer Herra moved to New York City at a young age. She attended Southern Adventist University in Collegedale for her undergraduate education and fell in love with Tennessee for its southern hospitality and country landscapes. Following medical school at St. George’s University School of Medicine in the West Indies, Dr. Herra decided to make her way back to Tennessee, where she completed residency training in internal medicine at Erlanger Health System through the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Chattanooga. She decided to make Chattanooga her home.
Dr. Herra has a passion for empowering her patients to take control of their health and treating the “whole person.” She believes that a good doctor-patient relationship is an integral part in achieving better health outcomes. Dr. Herra’s special areas of interest include lifestyle medicine and obesity medicine, in which she has earned board-certification. She is also interested in global health outreach.
When she’s not working, Dr. Herra enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, traveling, eating good food, and appreciating music and art.
