About / Overview

Dr. Ryan Cleary is Erlanger's Medical Director for Radiation Oncology. Dr. Cleary grew up in Corbin, KY, and graduated summa cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a BA in molecular and cellular biology. He completed medical school at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine where he was a member of AOA and graduated as valedictorian.

After finishing an internal medicine internship at the University of Kentucky Albert B. Chandler Hospital, he completed radiation oncology residency at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he was named chief resident.  His training included proficiency in intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT), stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT/SABR), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS), and high dose rate (HDR) and low dose rate (LDR) brachytherapy.  He is board-certified to see both adults and children.

In his free time, Dr. Cleary enjoys spending time with family including his wife, Laura, and two children. He likes to travel, cook, and participate in outdoor activities.
