In addition to being a physician at Erlanger Primary Care - Peachtree, Dr. Brian Mitchell serves as a clinical assistant professor at the UNC School of Medicine at Chapel Hill, teaching medical students since 1988. He has been on staff at Erlanger Western Carolina Hospital, and when Murphy Medical Center, serving in various capacities since 1979, including Chief of Staff, ICU, Cardiopulmonary Department and Cardiac Rehabilitation Program director.
Dr. Mitchell is a member of the Western North Carolina Medical Society and a board member of the James G.K. McClure Education and Development Foundation. He also serves on the Cherokee County Board of Education and is a founding board member of Super Saturday of Clay and Cherokee Counties, a school enrichment program.
Dr. Mitchell is a founding member and board chair for the Hiwassee Valley Recreation Foundation, which created and supports the Hiwassee Valley Pool and Wellness Center.
