About / Overview

Matthew Carbone is a doctor of physical therapy who has been practicing for more than 20 years and has resided in Chattanooga since 2002. He is a graduate of the University of Miami, FL, with a Master of Science in Physical therapy and also holds a Clinical Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Tennessee Chattanooga. Dr. Carbone is a Board Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and has also completed post doctorate training in manual therapy attaining a Certified Integrated Manual Therapist designation. Dr. Carbone is also Astym® Certified allowing a comprehensive treatment approach of chronic tendinopathies, pathological scarring, and soft tissue mobility restrictions that are affecting function.

In July of 2017, Dr. Carbone completed the EIM Concussion Management Certification (CMC), which is designed for physical therapists, occupational therapists, athletic trainers, and physicians to develop their skills in evaluation and management of concussion through the lifespan and in a variety of populations. The multidisciplinary certification gives practitioners the competence to better identify, treat, and manage the concussion patient along the entire continuum of recovery from acute to chronic and pediatric to geriatric.
