Biography

Dr. Nowotarski serves as Director of Orthopaedic Trauma at the region's only Level 1 trauma center. In this role, he sees many patients suffering from complex pelvic and extremity fractures resulting from high-energy falls or motor vehicle accidents. He also treats lower-energy injuries such as geriatric pelvic fractures, as well as elective situations, where there are complications such as fractures that are not healing well. 

Board-certified and fellowship trained, Dr. Nowotarski has served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Medical Corps. His current role also includes teaching the next generation of trauma surgeons as a Professor for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine at its Chattanooga campus. Dr. Nowotarski lectures extensively in the U.S. and overseas on the care and management of severe orthopaedic injuries.
