Dear Editor:
In December 2006 our eight-year-old son suffered a significant bleed in his brain, a result of an AVM (arterio-vascular malformation), and was flown by LifeForce from Cleveland to T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital at Erlanger.
The staff in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), with God’s help and guidance, truly saved our son’s life. Their attentiveness, professional care, and compassion enabled him to live and recover so miraculously. This unit deserves recognition locally, regionally, and beyond as a unit of excellence.
It is not often you see the caliber of teamwork exhibited at Children’s PICU. The nurses, techs, therapists, physicians, and clerks worked together in such a way you can tell they care about each other, take pride in their hobs, and most importantly, love their patients.
We hope many will read this letter and spread the word to those who do not know how blessed this area is to have such a wonderful hospital, staff, and the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. We tell everyone we know, and will for years to come since we owe our son’s life to the prayers of many, and to the work of this great group.
Sincerely,
David and Sherry Craig
