Erlanger: Healing. Teaching. Leading.

Beth Simpson, D.O., is the perfect example of a physician who trained at Erlanger and decided to stay in Chattanooga after completing her medical studies. Dr. Simpson served as Chief Resident of Internal Medicine at the UT College of Medicine Chattanooga during 2005-2006 and now works as a hospitalist at Erlanger North. “The community benefits from having Erlanger as an academic teaching institution and a training center for future doctors because it feeds the local healthcare system with new physicians,” says Dr. Simpson. A native of Marietta, Ga., Dr. Simpson says she and her husband “fell in love with Chattanooga” during her three-year residency and decided to stay in the area after she completed her training at Erlanger.
