• Your FREE BLUE membership cared is good for two years, and you will be notified when you need to renew.

A notice to our members

Please take note of some important changes associated with your free Erlanger HealthLink Plus program.

First, the HealthLink Plus office at Northgate Mall will close on June 30, 2008. Erlanger will continue our great partnership with Northgate, with the thrice-weekly exercise classes, the walking program and T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital’s sponsorship of the mall play area. In the next few weeks, look for an Erlanger kiosk in the mall where walkers can drop off their mileage and you can pick up information about our programs and services.

We will continue to offer many of the classes and health screenings you have taken advantage of at Northgate. These programs will be available at other locations, in particular at Erlanger North Campus on Morrison Springs Road and at Erlanger East Campus on Gunbarrel Road. Watch your Erlanger Magazine and other mailings for information.

Second, beginning September 1, 2008, we can no longer offer free valet parking services to HealthLink Plus members on the Erlanger Baroness Campus.

Since calendar year 2005, valet parking has grown from an average of less than 400 cars per week to just over 1,000 cars per week in calendar year 2007. Aside from the escalating costs to Erlanger, our driveway was not designed to safely and comfortably handle this kind of traffic. Parking lots available for valet were also not designed to handle these volumes, leading to delays for the patients who truly need this service. Expansion and redesign are not an option at this time.

We have worked out some new procedures. Beginning September, 2008:

In addition, in our parking garage, there are 88 handicapped slots close to the door in the hospital section and 60 handicapped spots close to the door and/or elevators in the Medical Mall section. A shuttle operates between the garage entrance to the Medical Mall and the elevators throughout the mall on the first floor.
