The Golden Hour

The "Golden Hour" is the first 60 minutes of care rendered to a trauma patient. From the time of the injury to surgical intervention. Care given in this time period may be the difference between life and death.

Defined by emergency medical personnel as the first 60 minutes of intensive care during which it is possible to save the life of an injured or traumatized person.
