The Aircraft

Bell 412

The Bell 412 twin-engine helicopter is an extremely safe and dependable flying intensive care unit with a full range of state-of-the-art life support equipment. The aircraft, a single-pilot, IFR certified helicopter, is capable of launching in minimal time with a speed of up to 150 miles per hour and flying 300 miles without refueling. Special equipment and pilot training allows LIFE FORCE the capability of flying in less than desirable weather conditions.

Bell 407

The Bell 407 is fast becoming one of the most popular EMS helicopters in the nation because of its reliability and unmatched record of safety and performance. Powered by the proven Rolls Royce 250-C47B  turbine engine, the Bell 407 aircraft is arranged in a medical configuration which accommodates one pilot, nurse, paramedic and patient and is rated for visual flight rules and includes multiple GPS navigations systems. It is designed with a new litter system, state-of-the-art communications system, and a custom interior to optimize patient care. A 15 million candlepower Star Burst SX-5 lighting unit ensures safe ingress and egress from nighttime landing zones.
