Abelazim Sirelkhatim, MD
Certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychology as well as the American Board of Vascular Neurology
After studying Medicine at the University of Khartoum, Dr. Sirelkhatim completed an Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Khartoum and an Internal Medicine Internship and Neurology Residency at the Medical College of Georgia. He is certified by the American Board of Neurology and Psychology as well as the American Board of Vascular Neurology. Dr. Sirelkhatim is the director of the neurology rotation at UTCOM for Internal Medicine, Family Medicine and Emergency Medicine residents. Over the years he has given many neurology lectures on a broad range of subjects including hereditary cerebellar ataxia, stroke, epileptic seizure, meningioma, encephalitis, and many more. He also leads the Neurology Case Conference each month where medical students, residents, nurses and doctors engage in fascinating discussions about rare neurology cases. Interestingly, as a child, Dr. Sirelkhatim loved math and physics—but hated biology!
