Nursing at Erlanger has never been stronger. We stand proud on a foundation of more than 100 years of nursing excellence. We base all our procedures and protocols on evidence-based best practices for all our patients and deliver care with an attitude of service and compassion.

A team of more than 1,600 highly talented, professional nurses provides care 24/7 to highly complex patients. Our patients range from pediatric to geriatric, medical to surgical, OB to trauma (and everything in between). Career opportunities in teaching, research, and administration/management abound at Erlanger since most specialty areas are represented.

Erlanger nurses enjoy multiple avenues for professional development and learning. On a daily basis, they use state-of-the-art technology and have the opportunity to increase their clinical knowledge through the many clinical trials and research projects happening here. We are on the journey toward magnet status and encourage our nurses to be involved in our shared governance system through participation in a unique council structure, as well as community outreach activities.

NURSES' WEEK 2013

Nurses' Week 2013 is fast approaching! Each year this special week offers the opportunity to say "thank you" and to recognize the dedication, commitment and leadership of our talented nursing team in the Erlanger Health System. Erlanger nurses strive every day to provide nursing excellence and promote professional nursing, utilizing best practice in the exceptional care provided to our patients and community. Nurses' Week 2013 will be May 6 – 12, ending on the birthday of Florence Nightingale. We are kicking things off a little early by opening nominations for one of the week's most important activities, the selection of our 2013 Nurse of Excellence. I invite you to help celebrate nursing at Erlanger by taking the time to tell us about the wonderful nurses you work with every day. 2013 Nurse of Excellence Award

There is no higher level of recognition than being honored by someone whose life you have touched. The Erlanger Health System Nurse of Excellence Award recognizes the professional nurses who demonstrate exceptional nursing practice. The intent is to provide anyone - team members, physicians, patients, and families the opportunity to nominate a nurse. Nominations are due to Nursing Leadership (ext 6796 or sharon.williams@erlanger.org) by March 31. The winner will receive an all-expense paid trip to the annual magnet conference!
