Southside and Dodson Avenue Community Health Centers—Providing
Primary and Preventative Medical & Dental Care for the Entire Family for
More Than 35 Years
The Centers are comprehensive, multi-specialty primary care facilities
offering affordable, accessible, high-quality medical and dental care. Our
board-certified or board-eligible professional providers include pediatricians,
internal medicine specialists, an obstetrics and gynecology physician who is a
Fellow in the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, nurse
practitioners, nurse mid-wives, and dentists.
The Health Centers also provide cutting-edge disease management and wellness
promotion services to our patients. These services are an integral part of our
approach to providing high-quality clinical care. They are an essential part of
our interactions with the communities and neighborhoods that surround the
Southside and Dodson Avenue locations.
Access to emergency care hospitalization or other specialized services is
provided through our affiliation with the Erlanger Health System. We provide

Please call in advance to schedule an appointment. If you or a member of your
family has an immediate health problem, please call early in the day to talk
with a nurse. An appointment will be scheduled as soon as possible. Only a
limited number of walk-in patients can be seen. If you have an emergency after
regular clinic hours, call the Health Center's number. The answering service
will take your call and forward it to the doctor on call. Referrals for
emergency care and specialty care will be made as needed.
Payment for Services Payment is requested at the time of
service and may be made by cash, check, money order, Visa, or Mastercard.
TennCare coverage is accepted through Blue Care, John Deere, PHP and TennCare
Select. Medicare and most private insurance are accepted. Co-payments are the
patient's responsibility. You may be eligible for reduced fees for services, but
federal guidelines require patients to provide proof of income and address at
the time of service. You may bring paycheck stubs, receipts, or current utility
bills showing your name and address for proof.
Prescriptions and Refills on Prescriptions When you come
for your first visit, please bring all medications that you are currently
taking. If you need refills before your next visit, please call the prescription
refill line at least 24 hours in advance. Some medications cannot be refilled
unless a doctor sees you. If you need help to pay for your prescriptions,
discuss this with the doctor or nurse. Assistance may be available through drug
companies for certain medications.
Staying Healthy We want to keep you and your family in
the best of health. We offer well child and preventive health exams for the
entire family. Ask for information about nutrition, exercise programs and how to
