The Chattanooga Dragon Boat
Festival
Each year community and corporate teams converge
on Chickamauga Lake to race in 41-foot-long dragon boat canoes - all while collecting pledges
for T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital. This year's race took place
in April, and to date we've raised over $80,000. Next
year's competition will take place in July in conjunction with the national
dragon boat race (as always, all skill levels are welcomed and encouraged).
Distinguished Physician's Brunch The
Distinguished Physician's Brunch honors two physicians who have made
extraordinary contributions to the health care of our community. This
year's honorees are Dr. Winston Caine and Dr. David McCallie. Proceeds
from the luncheon benefit The Baroness Erlanger Foundation. For more
information, please call 423-778-6600.
Golf Tournament For 22
years T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital Foundation's annual golf
tournament has provided a day of fun and relaxation for our donors, doctors and
employees. Last year the event raised $32,000 for Children's
Hospital. For more information, please call 423-778-6600.
Radiothon to benefit T.C. Thompson Children's
Hospital
Each year T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital Foundation partners
with a local radio station to host a radiothon, broadcasted
live from T.C. Thompson Children's Hospital. As a member
of the prestigious Children's Miracle Network (CMN) we receive logistical
support and visibility, but 100% of funds raised goes directly to programs at Children's
Hospital. In 2008, Classic Country 98.1The Legend
and sister station Rock 105.5 raised almost
$30,000.
Cure Kids Cancer Radiothon Twenty
five years ago, childhood cancer was a death sentence. Today the cure rate for leukemia, the
most common childhood cancer, is 80-90%.
Cure Kids Cancer (CKC ) Radiothon raises
funds to support the vital research needed to continually improve treatment
options and survival rates. Last year, Sunny 92.3 and 96.5
The Mountain
raised over $100,000. This
money helps fund toys, games, playrooms, camps, teen outings and other support services
that help ease the stress of dealing with this terrible
disease. |
