University Rheumatology Associates specializes in treating arthritis
and other diseases of the joints, muscles and bones. The physicians of
University Rheumatology Associates, Elizabeth L. Turner, MD, FACR, and Michael Brit,
MD, PhD, FACR, are board-certified in both internal medicine and
rheumatology.
Services University Rheumatology Associates offers
traditional therapies for rheumatic diseases, as well as newer biologic
therapies and joint and soft tissue injections. Among the types of rheumatic

Elizabeth L. Turner, MD, FACR Dr. Turner received a
medical degree and completed a residency in internal medicine from East
Tennessee State University’s Quillen College of Medicine in Johnson City. She
continued her training with a fellowship in rheumatology from Vanderbilt
University School of Medicine in Nashville.
Michael Brit, MD, PhD, FACR Dr. Brit earned his
undergraduate, graduate and medical degrees from the Russian State Medical
University. He also completed studies at the National Research Center for
Transplant Surgery in Moscow. He finished an internship and a residency in
internal medicine at Morristown Memorial Hospital in New Jersey and a fellowship
in rheumatology at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C.
