Of the nation's 5,000 hospitals, only 732 were chosen by U.S. News & World Report as Best Hospitals. To rank among America's elite regional medical centers, a hospital must be designated as high-performing in at least one critical medical specialty.
To earn that high-performing designation, a hospital must rank in the top 25% of qualifying hospitals within a particular specialty. And, while no other area hospital even had one such designation, the Teaching Hospital had SEVEN.
