East Campus

More than the delivery of babies...

Erlanger East Campus is a vital component of the Erlanger Health System. The multi-faceted medical campus is meeting the needs of a growing community with a Surgical Center (serving men, women and teens), an Urgent Care Center, physician offices and the Women’s Services obstetrics wing that is just completing a new addition.

History
In 1991, Erlanger Health System opened the Erlanger East Surgery Center at 1755 Gunbarrel Road just as that corridor began an explosion of growth associated with nearby Hamilton Place Mall. The new facility featured outpatient surgical services, as well as physician offices and soon included a Quick Care clinic.

On adjacent property, Erlanger entered into a joint venture with Memorial Heath Care System to build a low-risk birthing center. Women’s East Pavilion, initially focusing on low-risk deliveries and single-room maternity care, opened at 1751 Gunbarrel Road in 1996.

In 2000, Erlanger purchased Memorial’s interest. The new name of the facility was Erlanger East Campus and the obstetrical services side was joined to the Surgical Services/Quick Care side, becoming one medical campus - an obstetrical hospital, a surgery center and a busy Urgent Care walk-in clinic and physician office center.

Today, Erlanger East Campus includes seven additional rooms, a 16-bed, well-baby nursery and additional operating room for c-sections. Erlanger East Women’s Services now has 25 rooms for labor, delivery, and recovery. A second C-section room has been added that has the latest digital technology in which transmission via the Web is capable. This makes it possible to transmit your delivery to loved ones both nationally and internationally.

Further expansion to Erlanger East is in the planning stages.

Other Services Offered at Erlanger East

Gift Shop
Erlanger East offers a hospital gift shop operated by the Baroness Erlanger Auxiliary and filled with a variety of items for mother and baby or other patients. Specially for breastfeeding mothers, the shop sells Medela Nursing Support Bras and offers fitting assistance.

For out-of-town families, the shop offers floral and balloon arrangements, plush animals and other delightful and unusual gifts. Delivery is free within Erlanger East. Open Monday - Thursday, 9:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m., Friday 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Closed Sundays. Call 423-778-8749. Proceeds from the shop are used by the Auxiliary to benefit many hospital programs.

Moore & King Pharmacy
An affiliate of Erlanger Health System, Moore & King Pharmacy has a location on the Erlanger East Campus in the Galen Medical Building. Moore & King is a full-service pharmacy, offering free delivery in the Chattanooga area, and the location at Erlanger Women’s East features Medela breast pump rental. Call 423-826-0380.
