Clinical training of health professionals is an essential part of the Erlanger mission. The Clinical Placement office coordinates onsite training for students enrolled in Nursing and Allied Health programs.
Erlanger offers clinical training to undergraduate Nursing programs in a variety of settings including Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Adult Med-Surg/Critical Care. Undergraduate Nursing placements are scheduled through the Tennessee Clinical Placement System (TCPS). Academic Partners who are not members of TCPS should contact the Erlanger Clinical Placement office at (423) 778-6893 to inquire about training opportunities.
Erlanger offers clinical training to students in a variety of Allied Health programs including (but not limited to) Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech-Language Pathology, Respiratory Therapy, EMT/Paramedic, Medical Assistant and Pharmacy. Advanced Practice Nursing / Physician Assistant
Clinical internships for Advanced Practice Professional students are approved on a case-by-case basis. In order to be considered, candidates must be enrolled in a Nursing or Physician Assistant program that has a current contract with Erlanger. Students must complete the APP Clinical Internship Application and submit according to the APP Clinical Placement Guidelines. Students must complete orientation and provide documentation as outlined in the APP Clinical Placement Guidelines.
